Orthodontics is an area of expert dentistry that is focussed around the alignment of the teeth and the shape of the mouth. It is a very specialist area due to the complexity of the service provided. Orthodontic procedures can be carried out to correct a variety of areas such as teeth not being aligned properly, missing teeth, crooked teeth and more. Usually
Restorative Dentistry is a term that relates to all the dental procedures carried out in an effort to restore missing or damaged teeth to a gleaming standard. Restorative treatments will improve the appearance of patient’s smiles as well as help with their overall oral hygiene. It can also be used when the patient is suffering from tooth decay as a means of infection

Do you accept NHS patients?
Yes we do. For anyone looking for NHS dental treatment, please call us on 0161 224 7135.
Can I spread the cost of my treatments?
Depending on your circumstances we can offer interest-free finance on some dental treatments over a period of 12 months. I have a phobia of dentists. Can you help me overcome this?
All the team at our practice in Manchester are specially trained to work with children and nervous patients who have anxieties about visits to the dentist. We work with you to overcome your fears providing you with education about procedure; pain management and patient care before, during and after treatment.
What if my treatment isn't available free on the NHS?
Call us or drop into our clinics where we can have a discreet discussion about required treatments and your budget. We have teamed up with Medenta Finance Limited to offer all our customers a dental finance package that spreads over 12 months, 24 months and is even available up to five years for the more extensive treatments.
Do you accept children as patients?
Yes. At our practice in Manchester we take special care of children working hard to eradicate any fears about visiting the dentist. We also concentrate on education to prevent dental disease from occurring rather than treating it at a later date. Children as young as seven are accepted as orthodontic patients if treatment is required to improve functionality and appearance.
What is the difference between a dental check-up and a dental hygiene appointment?
Generally speaking a dental check up is what you have in the first instance where we can identify if you need any procedures such as restorations, fillings or referral to another specialist dental division. Dental hygienists belong to one of those divisions and they are experts on dental fitness and health. They advise on and treat gum disease, and can scale and polish your teeth to remove any tartar or calculus build up.
What is orthodontics?
Orthodontics is a professional division of dentistry that focuses on positioning and aligning of teeth. It can be done purely for aesthetic reasons or as a means of correcting facial and dental errors caused by extra, missing, improperly aligned, overcrowded, or crooked teeth, overbite or under bite or a disorder of the jaw joints. If you have any of these problems, there are no better professionals to work on your teeth than our Manchester-based dentists at Ocean Dental.
Will teeth whitening damage the enamel on my teeth?
When prescribed by one of the specialists at our Manchester practice, teeth whitening is safe and harmless. We use the Zoom whitening system. Its special whitening gel includes carbamide peroxide that is already used by millions of people worldwide.
